Northern Cape

Day 1: Arrival in South Africa

We meet today either at Cape Town International Airport or O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, depending on your travel route.
Once everyone has arrived, we will either enjoy a gentle sightseeing excursion or head straight to our accommodation for some rest and relaxation.
Tonight, we’ll stay in either Cape Town or Johannesburg, depending on where we met as a group.

Day 2: Flight to Upington – Gateway to the Northern Cape

This morning, we take a domestic flight from either Cape Town or Johannesburg to Upington, a peaceful town on the banks of the Orange River in the Northern Cape.
Upon arrival, we’ll take time to settle in. You may explore the town’s relaxed streets or enjoy downtime at the lodge or guesthouse.
Overnight in Upington.

Day 3: Day trip to Augrabies Falls National Park

After breakfast, we travel by road (about a 1-hour drive) to Augrabies Falls National Park, home to the mighty Augrabies Falls – one of South Africa’s most powerful waterfalls, especially after the rainy season. The park’s unique moon-like landscape and desert-adapted wildlife provide a tranquil yet awe-inspiring atmosphere.
We’ll spend the day here with plenty of time to rest and explore at your own pace.
In the afternoon, we return to Upington (1-hour drive) and spend the night at the same accommodation.

Day 4: Road trip to Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park

Today we embark on a scenic 4-hour journey to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, a vast and remote desert conservation area shared by South Africa and Botswana. The park is famous for its red sand dunes, black-maned lions, and dramatic landscapes.
We’ll stop regularly for breaks, stretching and refreshments.
Our accommodation tonight will be inside the park or just outside the main entrance.
The rest of the day can be enjoyed at the lodge or campsite, with time to settle in and relax.

Day 5: Exploring the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park

We dedicate the day to discovering this unique ecosystem. Game drives are flexible and allow for plenty of rest breaks, scenic stops, and sensory downtime.
Expect to see antelope, birds of prey, and possibly big cats in their natural habitat.
Overnight in or just outside the park.

Day 6: A second day in Kgalagadi – at your own pace

Another full day inside the park, with opportunities for wildlife viewing, photography, or simply appreciating the peaceful desert environment.
All activities are optional and tailored to suit varying energy levels.
Overnight in or near the park.

Day 7: Return to Upington

After breakfast, we head back to Upington by road (around 4 hours), stopping along the way to rest and take in the scenery.
We return to our familiar accommodation in Upington for a final evening in the Northern Cape.

Day 8: Flight to Johannesburg or Cape Town

Today we take a return flight from Upington to either Johannesburg or Cape Town.
Our accommodation tonight will be close to the airport to make your onward travel easy and relaxed.

Day 9: Departure Day

After breakfast, we say our goodbyes as everyone departs for home or their next destination.
We’re here to assist with airport transfers or additional travel arrangements if needed.
