Our Story
My journey began in the picturesque town of Piketberg, near Cape Town and the scenic West Coast. From an early age, I was fortunate to embark on extensive family travels, creating cherished memories along the way. Every three years, my family would embark on enriching journeys through South Africa and Namibia, immersing ourselves in local cultures and attractions, often traveling at a leisurely pace of just 200 kilometers a day.
Inspired by my family’s love for discovery, I embraced solo travel as I grew older, seeking out off-road adventures and venturing far from the beaten path. Now, as a devoted husband and proud father of a neurodiverse son, I continue to honor this family tradition of travel and exploration, bringing a wealth of experience and understanding to every journey I lead.
Our Mission
In June 2024, our family embarked on an ambitious 14-day, 5 800-kilometer journey through Namibia. While the breathtaking landscapes made for unforgettable sights, the trip posed significant challenges for our son, making it difficult for the whole family to fully enjoy the experience. This deeply personal journey sparked my curiosity about travel options specifically designed for neurodiverse children, families and individuals. To my surprise, I discovered a significant lack of resources catering to this essential but often overlooked need.
Later that year, in December 2024, my wife and I stayed at a guesthouse partnered with an institution specializing in neurodiversity. During our visit, we received specialized training to better understand and support neurodiverse individuals, particularly children. This transformative experience left a profound impact on us both, motivating me to purseu further training to expand my knowledge and skills.
Drawing on these experiences, I am proud to announce the launch of Neurodiverse Travel Co., a tour agency exclusively dedicated to serving neurodiverse individuals and their families. Our mission is to create safe, inclusive and enriching travel opportunities for everyone. Personally leading every tour as a guide, driver or both, I ensure every journey is carefully planned and expertly managed to provide the highest level of care and attention.

We offer neurodiverse-friendly tours accross South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Zambia, combining cultural exploration, wildlife safaris and unforgettable adventures – all tailored to the unique needs of neurodiverse travelers and their families. Understanding that travel can pose unique challenges for families with neurodiverse children or loved ones, we design exclusive tour experiences that prioritize sensory-friendly routines and a carefully tailored pace to meet the specific needs of each group.
